Program

Primary Health Care (PHC) Program

​The program was founded in 1988 by late Mr Abel Mapunda who  by then was the coordinator of the  program under supervision of the Director of St Joseph's hospital Dr. Ansgar Stuffe OSB. It started with two villages of Mdunduwalo and mwanamonga and later expanded to all 8 wards of Ruvuma divisions.  Project include school health programme environmental sanitation including building of school latrines, provision of clean and safe water to schools and community as whole including rehabilitation of traditional wells, drilling of water bore holes then installation of hand pumps and piped gravitational water supplies. The program also involves training of Village health workers (VHWs) every year.
